“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson

We can so easily slip into hyperfocus on what we cannot control (like other people’s behavior, feelings, and decisions that affect our lives) that we forget our inherent power to design and create the life we want for ourselves. Does that mean we have control? No. But, it does mean we have immeasurable creative power to influence and shift the direction of our life. It’s not ALL up to us, of course. A creative force greater than us is ever-present (call it God, Source, the Universe – it all points to the same). As you turn the page in your calendar to 2024, you’ll be presented with an opportunity to step firmly into the role of co-author of your life. That’s right, your one precious life is a book being written every day. You have a say on what gets written. What will this next chapter hold? In this retreat, Maddy and Kelley serve as your guides to help you reflect on last year’s growth and learning, gain clarity on your core values, and set intentions for what you want in 2024. Practices include journal writing and creative exercises to uncover your true, authentic self and what is most meaningful to you. You’ll be warmly welcomed into an intimate group of women, take adventurous hikes, flow on your yoga mat, and enjoy delicious food and soul stirring conversations. You will leave feeling more connected and clear-minded on what you want to manifest in 2024!

FAQ

Q: If I book with a friend, does that reduce the ticket price?

A: Booking with a friend does not reduce the price because tickets include accommodations, meals, activities, etc.

Q: What’s the difference between the tiny cabins and the creekside cabins?

A: The creekside cabins are more spacious and have a kitchenette w/ cooktop, refrigerator, coffee maker, heat and A/C as well as a bathroom and shower. The tiny cabins are equipped with a mini fridge, coffee maker and heat and A/C. There is no running water or bathroom facilities in the tiny cabins, however, the community barn (with bathrooms and showers) is less than 100ft. away.

Q: Isn't it really cold in January?

A: Winter in NC is beautiful! But, if you don't like the cold, it's probably not the time to come. On the other hand, if you enjoy warming by the hearth with a hot cup of tea after hiking trails with hardly anyone else on them, present to the hushed sounds of the forest in the winter - then this is it! According to NOAA, average temperature for Old Fort in January is high of 52 degrees and low of 29 degrees Fahrenheit.

Q: What fitness level do I need to have?

A: For the hikes, if you can walk on uneven terrain for 3-5 miles, going at your own pace, with pauses for rest and water, you’ll be fine! The yoga is beginner friendly, slow flow style and modifications can be done as your body needs.

Q: It’s just me, will that be awkward?

A: Not at all! We are all about solo travel and know how to create a welcoming experience for all! We will pair you with another solo traveler for your overnight accommodation, and you’ll have a new buddy!

Q: Do you have any single occupancy options?

A: Yes, but we have just 2 single occupancy spots available on most retreats.

Q: I’m coming with a friend, can we request shared accommodation?

A: Yes, and we will do our very best to arrange that. After registering, email Kelley at coach@kelleydoyle.com with your request. We cannot guarantee it and will notify you if we cannot accommodate the request.

Q: What meals are included? And, can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

A: This retreat will includes 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 2 dinners. If we know about your dietary restrictions in advance we can provide menu alternate options. In your pre-retreat questionnaire we ask about food allergies and dietary restrictions. This feedback will help us customize all meals on retreat. In addition, you have the option to bring your own snacks and specialty food and store them in either your cabin or the community barn kitchen.

Q: I'm flying in. What's the closest airport?

A: Asheville airport is closest - 37 miles away and less than an hour drive. Charlotte airport is 103 miles away and a two hour drive (without traffic).

Q: What should I bring?

A: You will receive a packing list ahead of retreat with everything you need to bring.

Q: What is the age range of women attending this retreat?

A: We have an 18+ age requirement. Outside of that, we find that our retreats bring together a diverse group of like-minded women. It's less about age and more about mindset. The women who come on retreat with us vary in age, but all have in common a desire to step away from their busy lives, slow down, and reconnect with their true selves.

Q: What if I need to cancel?

A: The retreat tickets are non-refundable. We aim to give our retreat participants an enjoyable and memorable, life-changing experience you will not want to miss! While not required, we strongly recommend travel insurance to protect your investment in case of unforeseen circumstances.
