“We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.”
- Joseph Campbell

All human beings have what Joseph Campbell (late author & professor of mythology) referred to as “the call to adventure.” The “call” can be described as the desire of your heart, the whisper of your soul, or the yearning for something different. Many people lead such busy and distracted lives they don’t hear the call. For many others, the call is ignored because of self-doubt or fear of the unknown. To be clear, your call is guiding you onto your true path in life and a life of meaning and purpose. In this retreat, your hosts Maddy and Kelley will share their personal stories of their call to adventure and inspire you to follow your own call. You’ll be warmly welcomed into an intimate group of women, take adventurous hikes, flow on our yoga mats, enjoy delicious food and have some soul stirring conversations. You will leave feeling more connected, energized and inspired to take action toward the call to your own adventure!

Retreat Co-Host

Kelley Doyle Snyder

Kelley is a life coach, workshop & retreat leader based in Charlotte, NC, USA. Her quest for truly knowing herself and living in alignment with her values, gifts and purpose began in her twenties. Like most personal journeys, it began with the uncomfortable thought: I can't live like this anymore. At age of 30, Kelley underwent a major shake up in her life. She quit her lucrative (but soul-sucking) corporate sales job, bought a one-way ticket to New Zealand and a sturdy backpack and went about (pardon the cliché) finding herself. Three months of solo hiking in rainforests, swimming with dolphins, and running off the edge of a cliff to see if she would fly (she did, thanks to her paragliding partner) convinced her to return home to start a personal coaching business to help others find meaning and purpose in their one, wild and precious life.

Kelley is a yoga instructor and certified facilitator of Brené Brown’s transformational work.

Maddy Rose

A little backstory: I always saw myself following the straight and narrow path in life (mostly because I didn’t realize there were alternative options, ha)! I graduated high school, went straight to college, graduated college, and immediately entered the corporate world. I thought I’d dedicate my life to climbing the corporate ladder and that was that. A few years into that lifestyle, I started to feel incredibly unfulfilled (hello quarter-life crisis). You should probably know that my LEAST favorite saying ever is anything along the lines of “that’s life” or “suck it up” — uh, no? I am a firm believer in chasing your dreams no matter how big and never, ever settling. I started “Madelyne on the Move” as a creative outlet and a way to share my adventures. It has grown into so much more than that, and I’m so thankful for the community and opportunities that have come along with this journey. Ultimately, I hope to inspire you to live your happiest and most fulfilled life.
